After number of suggestions and convincing finally i decide to book my cheap family holidays in Ahmedabad. We got together and i was very excited to see a city which is rated highly among the travelers, though it may not have the styles and panache of a Mumbai or a Delhi but is a city adventurous and exciting in its own right. I have seen most of India but do not know for what reasons never made my plans for any city in Gujarat, so was very excited about the my journey ahead. The excitement was more because we were travelling on a tight budget anyways and on top we got some really cheap flights to Ahmedabad as well which overwhelmed us more.
Amazing Ahmedabad
Once we landed in Ahmedabad we could feel the festivity and the celebrations in the air as anywhere that we looked we could see smiling people, people in happy and festive mood that really made me think that nobody knows how to celebrate than people in Ahmedabad. The taxi driver on our way acted as a guide for a while as he gave an idea of the famous historical places to visit in the city, which i felt was very important as the names that we had in our list was not anywhere close to what he told us.
Our visits to the famous Jumma Masjid, derasaHutheesingh and famous Sabarmati Ashram were the highlights of that trip apart from all the celebrations and festivities that we attended. The good thing about those celebrations and festivities were that we were able to make some Gujarati friends who furthermore made out trip an exciting and memorable affair. The local handicraft at the local markets, the Gujarati delicacies and Guajaratitraditions have now become a part of our lives that we would certainly like to relive again.
